Dimboola Stool.
Battered and bruised. Aged and abused. For many years these timbers held back the Dimboola River. Rescued while working on the weir restorations , and brought back to life to showcase their true beauty.
The steel bars I found down near Shelly Beach in Williamstown. I removed the protruding bars from lumps of concrete blocks, that I believe came from the Williamstown football ground. From back in the days when major renovations took place and, “just shove it the water.” , was considered okay
As with all wooden seats (I believe), the more they are sat on the better they get. Every bum will help to polish it that little bit more! If you do find it getting a little dry, then a bit of love goes a long way. A few minutes sanding with 1200 grit sandpaper and then rub in some natural oil (Danish oil, Linseed for example) with some 2000 grit paper. Allow it to soak in for 30 minutes, and then buff off any excess with a soft cloth.
